Update April 12, 2026

HVOA Gun Range Update April 12, 2026

Now that winter is over and the ground is drying out, it’s time to finish the rebuild at the gun range.

First of all, I would like to send out a huge thank you to the people who volunteered their time last year.  A lot of work was completed, but there are still some items to finalize before I can call for an inspection.  Before I list the remaining work to be done, I would like to point out to our community that HVOA is responsible for the ski trails system, gun range, and disc golf.  We are a very small dedicated group of volunteers, currently in need of a president, secretary, and directors.  (Thank you to Peter Martell who, as past president, gave us many years of leadership.  And of course Karley Millhouse – we miss you as secretary!).  As with any volunteer organization, without directors, members, and volunteers, these recreational sites will cease to exist. The land lease for the gun range is under HVOA.  No HVOA, no gun range.

Work parties will recommence first half of May.  Remaining to be done: general clean-up, installation of target stands, range signage, completion of building interior, tree removal, installation of fencing at archery range area.

If you can help, DO NOT PM me through Facebook.  I can be texted or phoned at 250-946-6412, or email me at qshmengy@gmail.com.
